22nd ANNUAL FISHING COMPETITION

Entries are open for our 22nd Annual Surtees Fishing Competition. The 2027 comp will be held from 18th-20th February in Whakatane, with the Whakatane Sport Fishing Club as our home base once again.

Year after year, we have an incredible group of sponsors who come on board and support us, donating some epic prizes for our anglers to win! The 2026 comp brought nearly 230 anglers and 68 Surtees boats to Whakatane to fish, and our prize pool was over $104k. Too good!

At the ramp, Honda made sure you had breakfast, and Lusty & Blundell kept you caffeinated, and back on land, Jono and the crew at Iceman had everything you needed for a great day on the water. They’ll all be back again in 2027, alongside other major sponsors Garmin, Daiwa, Dometic, Haddocks and many, many more.
