Ready for a rough-water boat test? The Surtees 650 Game Fisher alloy boat didn't shy away from the 20-25 knot southerly.

Plate-aluminium boats are omnipresent, but the Surtees boats from NZ have more ingenuity than most. With a water-ballasted hull, hardtop for weather protection, plenty of hardcore fishing features, and a 175hp Yamaha on the tail, this 650 Game Fisher was a terrific turn-key plate fishing boat. The eager rig proved its mettle during a serious test to Moreton Island (Australia) and back in 20-25 knots and 1.5m seas.
