GET BEHIND TOLL NORTHLAND AND YOU COULD "SCORE A SURTEES"

2011 will be a year to remember for a lucky Taniwha fan who will “Score A Surtees”... This year there is even more reason to get in behind Toll Northland in the ITM Cup, with one lucky supporter set to win a Surtees Boat worth close to $40,000 for twelve months from Bay of Islands Marine Centre in Opua.

“Score A Surtees” will help enthuse a big turnout of vocal fans getting in the behind the Taniwha in what is a massive year for rugby in New Zealand. The prize that Bay of Islands Marine Centre has generously put forward (complete with a Cambridge Blue hull to match the Taniwha colours) will certainly strike a chord with the Northland public, given the region has a long and strong history with rugby over the winter months, and an attraction to beaches and boating over the summer months.

Everyone over the age of 18 that attends a Northland home game will have the opportunity to win the boat and age or gender will have no influence as the boat will be won with a “game of chance”. At each home game, nine supporters will be randomly chosen to compete in the half time game where they can "Score a Surtees in the Blue Boat Eliminator Game", in association with Bay of Islands Marine Centre and 91.6 More FM.

Contestants will be selected in two ways; seat numbers for those in the grandstand, and randomly from the crowd on the terraces and hill, with three or four people chosen from each means. Supporters should note that to give themselves the best chance of selection they should be at the game at least 20 minutes prior to the match kicking off.

The Blue Boat Eliminator game itself will be a game of chance with a reverse draw taking place. There will be 9 symbols or logos placed on the field and contestants will be invited to stand by one of the symbols. Corresponding symbols (using people in the crowd) will be drawn with the person standing by that symbol being eliminated, continuing until we find the last one standing who wins a game day prize of a Shimano rod and reel and 2 tickets to the last home game (Wednesday 24 August) where they will have a 1 in 5 chance of winning the Surtees boat for 12 months.

At the final match against Hawkes Bay the weekly game will take place immediately followed by the final with the four previous winners joining the winner from that week’s game, as they strive to be last one standing, and take away the Surtees boat for twelve months.

Full terms and conditions for the Score A Surtees promotion will be displayed the Bay of Islands Marine Centre website.
